Chelsea star aims subtle swipe at David Luiz after his Arsenal move

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has appeared to aim a dig at former team mate David Luiz after the Brazilian’s move to Arsenal.

The Gunners’ new boy made a controversial move from the Chelsea to north London ranking as one of the most shocking transfers this summer.

He signed a two-year deal with Chelsea in May and his departure comes five weeks after Frank Lampard returned to Stamford Bridge to manage his former club.

Christensen, who will be hoping for greater opportunities under Lampard, has taken to Facebook and made his feelings about Luiz’s departure clear.

The Danish international posted a picture of himself and his ex-team mate above the caption, ‘No player is bigger than the club.’

Appearing surplus to requirements, the clubs agreed a £7million fee which sees Luiz re-united with Unai Emery after the pair worked together at Paris Saint-Germain.

Meanwhile, the club’s manager has come out to shed more light on the circumstances that led to the departure of the the defender.

His words: “David Luiz has obviously left and gone to Arsenal. We had some honest conversations over the last week because I know him well and the conclusion of that was he is gone.

“It’s an area of the pitch where we have competition. I don’t have number ones or twos. They have to fight for that shirt. I wish him the best because he has been a big part of our history.”
