(Watch Video) Serge Gnabry scores! 18’… Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich

Out of nowhere, Bayern are back on level terms.

Gabriel us caught out on the left when confronted with a lack of options, allowing Leroy Sane to take charge.

The former Manchester City ace quickly sparks a move that sees Leon Goretzka bursting towards the penalty area.

Rather than shooting, the German midfielders slips a delightful little pass through for Serge Gnabry to slide in and scoop through David Raya to equalise.

Silence descends on the Emirates.

Liverpool handed huge blow as Xabi Alonso opens talks with Bayern Munich, reveals why he can’t join Reds

Bayern Munich have reportedly opened talks with Xabi Alonso over him becoming their new manager in the summer – in a potential blow to Liverpool’s chances of landing him.

Alonso, 42, is world football’s most in-demand coach after a hugely successful season with Bayer Leverkusen that sees them 10 points ahead of Bayern in the Bundesliga title race.

Liverpool are keen on the Spaniard to succeed Jurgen Klopp but reports from Germany suggest Bayern – who want a replacement for Thomas Tuchel – have already held discussions with him.

Sky Sport Deutschland, via Daily Mail, reported on Monday night that the first signs were positive for Bayern and that Alonso currently favours them over Liverpool.

Their reporter Florian Plettenberg reported that Alonso feels following on from Klopp’s successful tenure at Anfield is too high a risk.

Klopp has won the Champions League, the Premier League, the FA Cup, two League Cups, and the FIFA Club World Cup during his nine years in charge at Liverpool and is adored by the red half of Merseyside.

That would certainly be a more difficult legacy to follow than Tuchel’s unravelling spell at Bayern, with their season essentially hinging on Tuesday night’s Champions League game with Lazio.

The news comes as a huge blow to Liverpool who are also keeping tabs on Alonso as a potential successor to Klopp.

Liverpool made the shock announcement in January that Klopp has decided to leave the club at the end of the season and Alonso has been linked with the upcoming vacancy ever since.

Alonso won the Champions League as an Anfield star in 2005 and has always maintained a close affinity with fans of the club.

Klopp previously heaped praise on Alonso recently, stating: “Xabi is doing an incredible job.

“The ‘dinosaurs’ like Ancelotti, Mourinho, Guardiola and myself will not do it for 20 more years but the next generation is already there. I would say Xabi is stand-out in that department.

“He was a world-class player, like a coach already, and the team he has set up is exceptional. Not only the points tally but the way they play.”

Barcelona, Bayern Munich told cost of signing Premier League club manager

Barcelona, Manchester United and Bayern Munich will have to fork out Roberto De Zerbi’s release clause this summer if they want to prise the Italian from Brighton.

De Zerbi, 44, replaced Graham Potter as Seagulls boss in September 2022.

He has gone on to excel on the South Coast, guiding his side to a sixth place finish last season.

His exceptional work has seen him attract strong interest from Barcelona, with Xavi set to leave at the end of the season.

Reports in Spain have described De Zerbi as Barca’s “chosen one” – and claim that meetings have already taken place between his agents and the Catalan club’s sporting director Deco.

De Zerbi is under contract at Brighton until June 2026 and won’t come cheap.

The Seagulls are set to demand that his £12.8million release clause be paid in full, should a club want to appoint their manager.

According to Spanish paper Sport this is proving to be a stumbling block for Barca, with the skint LaLiga champions not wanting to pay at all.

Even if Barcelona cannot get De Zerbi, the Italian also has admirers at Bayern Munich and Liverpool.

Both Bayern and the Reds, like Barcelona, are set to hire new bosses at the end of the season – with Thomas Tuchel and Jurgen Klopp leaving their respective posts.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is understood to have considered potential replacements for Erik Ten Hag should they decide to make a change.

Roberto de Zerbi is understood to be of interest to Manchester United.

Bayern Munich sign two Chelsea starlets, say “we’ve gained two hopeful talents”

Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich have signed two Chelsea starlets Jamal Musiala and Bright Akwo Arrey-Mbi.

Football.london report that the deal will see the two youngsters head to the German giants as part of their youth academy.

Musiala is set to link up with Miroslav Klose’s under-17 side, while Arrey-Mbi linking up with Martin Demichelis and Danny Schwarz in the under-19s.

Speaking to the club website, junior manager Jochen Sauer said: “With Jamal and Bright, we’ve gained two hopeful talents for our junior teams.

“We are convinced of their qualities and their development potential and assume that they will quickly settle on campus.”

Musiala and Arrey-Mbi have spent eight and five years respectively in the Chelsea academy showing the good work that continues to be done there.

Of course they’re not the first starlets who Bayern have targeted with Callum Hudson-Odoi recently attracting attention from the giants.

The 18-year-old is tipped for big things at Stamford Bridge after bursting onto the scene last term.
